On 2ha and 3000m² of 18th century buildings you will go back to the time of our ancestors and discover the rural life in 1900.

In the South of France you always hear the word "mas" to designate dwellings in the countryside... "Mas" in Provençal means "farm", in this case there are more than 3000m² of buildings dating from 1780 for the oldest part. The mas are always south facing with a large courtyard in front and small windows to the north.

And yes, all this allows us to protect ourselves from our local wind "le mistral" which can then blow for days and weeks at more than 100km/h..... and in front of often large plane trees protect the inhabitants from the sun and the heat in summer...

The country school

At that time, the country school grouped together all the levels, it welcomed the children of the peasants, breeders living on the Beaucaire plain and it also adapted to the rhythm of the seasons of haymaking, harvest and grape harvests because the older children helped their parents... it was a different era...

The farmer's house

With its large living room, adorned with a large fireplace, the table often welcomed a large family and everyone would gather around the fireplace in winter to have a candlelit vigil before going to their large bed warmed by the "monk" upstairs...

The storeroom was filled with jars of home-made preserves and the cupboards with beautiful white sheets.

The neck

Unique in the region and built between 1850 and 1860, this long corridor of 110m in length allowed access to the upper floor during the harvest and to empty the load into the vats from above.

It was also very useful during the multiple floods of the Rhone to get animals and equipment out of the water.

It was built at the same time as the pumping station opposite the farmhouse, where a chimney of more than 18m in height stood at the time.

The street of old trades

Find the main shops in this street with the grocer's shop, the clog maker, the shoemaker, the ironmonger, the shoemaker, the carpenter... entirely reconstituted.

Small and large agricultural equipment

From Brabant to 302 Vierzon, in the countryside, modernism has upset habits.

In Végère in 1930, more than 35 hectares of vines were cultivated, compared to 90 hectares today.

There was no shortage of equipment at the time, ploughs, Canadian harrows, mule-riding sulphate machines and Vierzon tractors are the memory of our countryside.
